LABOR DAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY means.. no school today! woot woot*

spent the day with Meg and her wabbitses...

aren't they just the darnest little things?! Patrick is such a poser.. he's a total camera whore.. whereas Abby can't stay still.. it's almost like she knows she's being photographed and moves...

sushi for lunch! and guzzled down with cider.. yum.

we watched The Other Boelyn Girl and as a snack.. i made...

deep fried oreos!!!

they were surprisingly delicious! the cookie was soft and chewy and the filling melted like marshmallows. so bad for you but so addictive!
all i you need is:
pancake mix
vegetable oil
small sauce pan
whisk
pack of oreos

submerge the oreo into the pancake batter and deep fry it in medium to low heat till golden brown! make sure the batter is more gloopy than runny.. otherwise you won't get much batter on the cookie...

hehehe.. i kind of burnt the last batch a little.. was going back and forth from the kitchen to the lounge where the tv was and they got super brown super fast... so note.. DON'T WALK AWAY FROM FOOD THAT IS BEING FRIED!!

blind date?

alas the weekend is here... and it was so warm today!

but of course it wasn't going to stop me from fooding with a friend today at El Jannah!

it was surprisingly not awkward at all.. considering it was technically a blind date! hahaha i met her through instagram and our love of nails! we've been talking for a few months now just the usual daily rantings and admiring nail polish online.. haha.

when i got home i did bestie twin nails with my dear friend Tori!

she hadn't ever done galaxy nails before so she picked the theme

i was lazy to hand paint the stars so i decided to fish for them from Smudged Alone Tonight.. that and i can't do the thin fine lines for whatever reason.. they always end up looking like awkward blobs.. --i should probably look into getting acrylic paint for nail art...

for this mani i used Ulta3 Black Satin for the base.. then sponged on Ulta3 Lily White. Sinful Colors Sugar Rush. OPI No Spain No Gain and BYS Rhapsody. topped off with Australis Speck-tacular and Smudged polish Alone Tonight.

i know i know.. this looks nothing like an animal.. but.. this design is called ikat.. and this is my rendition of cat mani.. without being cliche hahaha. to be honest.. i totally cheated for this challenge because my favorite animal is actually a dog.. but in my defence.. i like cats just as much too!

for this manicure i used OPI Dulche de Leche for the base. Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Chinza Glaze Liquid Leather and BYS Matte Blue for the designs.

uni was such a drag today.. days like this i just wish i had already graduated working some mediocre job. everyone around me has either graduated.. working.. engaged... married.. travelling.. babies... and i'm still stuck in limbo.. sometimes i feel like i chose the wrong field.. thinking had i chosen.. business. or finance.. education even.. that i'd already be working and having vacation every other quarter.. but no.. i'm still carrying my DC backpack stuffed with text books and my laptop to school every day. all this reading and hair pulling better be worth it at the end.. cause the rate that i'm going.. i really can't stand people anymore.. and how can i help them if i hate them? hanging in there.. *fighting!*

this mani is for my tuplets.. i'll admit.. i'm not a huge fan of these suckers.. primarily because i hate dotticures but for whatever reason this sucker hit 312 likes on instagram!!! and that's my most ever! 

for this manicure i used Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the base. BYS Matte Blue, Matte Purple. Sinful Colors Unicorn, Orange Cream Portmans Cherry and Scandal Bikini Green for the dots.

i recently picked up watching korean dramas.. and i shamefully admit that i'm really hooked on them now hahaha. i'm currently watching You're Beautiful and Nail Shop Paris (starring Cheondung *swoons*) the characters are absolutely beautiful. both the males and females.

had a lunch date with my cousin today at Jamie's Italian on Pitt St after a ridiculous exam..

it was quite nice.. we had pasta and a side salad.. something i'd definitely want to do again.. this was the best thing that has come out of my painting nails so far.. got a free lunch..

and my nails of the day.. i really liked the galaxy nails i did the other day.. so i thought i'd do a spin off of it.. maybe.. graffiti nails? for this manicure i used China Glaze Liquid Leather for the base. and sponged on OPI No Spain No Gain and DS Tapestry BYS Matte Blue Sinful Colors Snow Me White and topped it off with two coats of Australia Speck-tacular.

now back to more articles and readings for my group presentation on top of all the other readings i have to do with my assessments.. fun days. and they all say student life is about drunken lesbian orgies.. pssch.. i'm clearly being jipped.

water marbling attempt 2

was determined to get this marbling thing right.. everyone else makes it look so easy.. for this manicure i used BYS Matte Green and Sally Hansen Frutti Petutie over Sinful Colors Snow Me White topped off with OPI Last Friday Night to cover up the horrible bubbling.. i just can't seem to get it right.. idk if it's the water i'm using.. or the polishes.. it seems to dry before i can use the tooth pick to draw out the design with a toothpick.. or when i go to dip my finger in.. i either don't get the design i want.. or.. i get mounds of bubbles =="

back to pretending to study.. i seriously can't wait for uni to be over.

have i ever mentioned how much i hate dots?!

i really have no idea what i was thinking when i did this manicure... and mind i tell you.. it was an absolute nightmare to do.. my hands kept shaking and i was so adamant on making sure the dots were of somewhat the same size.. it was horrible.. i did it during one of my skype sessions with the other half... and thank goodness he kept me sane enough to finish this manicure..

for this manicure i used OPI Planks A Lot and Stranger Tides for the gradient. BYS Matte Grey and Black Satin for the leopard print hearts and topped it off with China Glaze Golden Enchantment because everything is better with glitter :P

i truly don't know what i was thinking when i did this manicure.. i wanted to have a light color base because it felt a little more summery... but i don't know where to begin if i had to explain how i came up with this inspiration hahahahaha..

i used Ciate Strawberry Milkshake... (mind you was a complete nightmare to apply.. it was thick.. but it left lots of streak marks and in the picture there's about 3 coats of it) OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips for the bow. SinfulColors Snow Me White for the cat. BYS Black Satin for the eyes and whiskers and BYS Lucky Ducky for the nose.

needless to say this manicure didn't stay on for very long hahahaha. i didn't even bother trying my right hand. can only imagine what kind of a shit show that would have been :D

these suckers were probably one of the hardest nailarts i've ever done. as simple as it looks i really don't know these nail artists do such perfect dots and all the same size mind you! i've heard of tricks as using a tooth pick or a tiny dotting tool... or the obvious to.. practice makes perfect.. yeah no.. my hand spasms were unforgiving once again...

for this manicure i used BYS Lucky Ducky and Baby Lets Cruise for the base colors. and BYS Black Satin and SinfulColors Snow Me White for the pandas.

if anyone has.. some kind of trick... or... way to make the dots look even and less tragic looking please don't hesitate to teach this noob... because i just can't seem to get the hang of it.
