it's finally finished!

SO... after a week of sanding and staining and painting.. guess who has finally finished kitchen renos...?!

the painting was a synch but the sanding took ages and was so awful.. there was saw dust everywhere.. thank goodness my mom helped my dad and i clean up afterwards.. otherwise it would have taken even longer.. but it was good fun.. i was able to spend a lot of time with my dad talking bullshit and letting him reminisce over his younger bad child days hahaha

get this... after a week of hard labor on my hands.. i managed to spare my nails from breaking.. but the last day when i took a shower.. one nail tore... =="

birthday foodings part 2

meet up with an old bestie today and she took me out for my birthday dinner...

getting drunk on meat and bier to celebrate the beginning of my uni break!

we went to the Bavarian Bier Cafe in Town Hall. she had the Octoberfest Tasting Plate with ale and i had Roast Pork Belly with Mango Bier.

it was so great to catch up with her. it had seemed like forever since i had seen her.. even though we message one another almost everyday... and as always we rolled home. every single time we go out with each other we always seem to over eat.. it's just tradition now i guess.

--so.. if you read back to one of my earlier posts.. i was having a cry about the fact that the penis was going to be in Singapore a whole day earlier than i was... and i went on a spree searching for other flights to Singapore on the wednesday instead but the price was a difference of over $200! so i thought i was destined to leave on thursday and he on wednesday... WELL... get this...
so his friend who lives in Sydney happened to also book on the same day and flight as i did.. and he received an email a few weeks ago saying that his flight was cancelled so he had to move it to another date but because he couldn't take off from work he wasn't leaving till friday.. i thought i was lucky.. because i didn't receive any email notifying me of any changes.. so we just all assumed that they over booked and he was the unlucky one who got kicked out. i didn't think anything of it until the penis forwarded an email to me and it was a conversation they were having that his friend checked online and there were no flights at all on thursday.. so i decided to check online.. and it said that my flight was for Wednesday October 16.. but my itinerary said Thursday October 17... mind was blown at this point so i decided to call up scoot.com to figure out what was going on. turns out.. they apparently sent me an email about the change of flight 2 weeks ago and the cut off date to change the light for free was last week... but.. i don't mind leaving on wednesday because that's the date that i wanted anyway!!! so lucky! teeheehee* i'm pretty ecstatic about this change of events! it means i get an extra day in Singapore and i didn't have to do anything to get it! win!

now lets hope i keep this excitement and not kill myself thinking about you know what when i get there...

greetings nailings!

today i bring you keeping an idiot entertaining part 2!

this is 2 delicious coats of Miss Ashleigh Super Nova! a thermal polish that changes from purple when cold to blue when warm! the stars were a little finnicky to fish for so i ended up using the holo stars from Smudged Polish Alone Tonight. but this is a beautiful polish none the less! i mean.. look at it!

uni today... and needless to say.. i was staring at my nails watching the transitioning of blue to purple or vice versa at the fluctuation of my body temperature in class instead of paying attention to what was going on in my tutorial..
i've been finding it very difficult to concentrate lately... i don't know what it is.. maybe because uni break starts this weekend.. or excitement mixed in with nervousness of the Singapore trip.. who knows.. i just hope i stay in tune long enough to get through my exams =="

wear thermal polish to uni.. and spend the entire lecture watching your nails change colour as opposed to paying attention to what the shit is going on...

i had done this mani last night.. impatient to wait for the color change... i went to run my fingers through cold water to see the difference.. but it was still purple.. i thought maybe it didn't work for me.. and it was still a beautiful deep holo purple if it didn't change colors.. i woke up this morning and my nails were pink.... =="
it didn't occur to me to try warm water since cold water didn't work... i just had assumed my hands were warm. therefore they were purple.. turns out it's purple when cold and pink when warm... IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!

well.. that is my derp share for the week.. going to waste away watching Super Junior talk shows!

for this mani i used Miss Ashleigh's The Devil Wears Nada.. printed on some newspaper exerts by dipping my finger in alcohol then placing a square of newspaper on top then slapped on some vintage roses that looked much better in my head than painted on my nail.. i think i should look into getting some acrylic paint?!

not much to report about... have a few papers due next week.. absolutely procrastinating to do them as per usual.. maybe i'll go listen to some kpop to get me pumping!

seriously.. i have a new found respect for the nail ladies who swatch polishes.. it is by all means NOT easy.. these 5 swatches literally took me the whole of sunday to do! luckily it was such a beautiful day out.. and i sat in the backyard pumping kpop while doing these swatches.. but they took a good 6 hours to do. on top of the fact that i took countless pictures of each mani and they all still came out only mediocre.. they're much prettier in real life and i just wish there was a way that i could capture it.

ok. this is the asian signing out now.. going to perv on some korean pop boys before passing out for uni tomorrow! hope everyone had a fantastical weekend!

Blibber Blubber is a creamy white filled with neon glitters from butterflies to different sized hexes, squares and star glitters! For the most part i didn't have to fish for the bigger glitters unless i wanted to pack it on... and being the glitter hoarder that i am.. was the only reason why i used 2 dabbed coats... but otherwise you don't really need to go fishing for this bad boy!

where did the weekend go?!

hello again! i hope everyone is having or had an awesome weekend!
raining and cold here this weekend... =="

i spent the entire weekend watching movies with the other half (which means streaming movies at the same time while being on Skype) --yes yes.. i'm supposed to be studying.. but i literally can't be bothered for anything.. even my nail painting has been cut down! i mean.. it's mostly because i don't have anything new to play with.. --mind you its been over a month since i got new nail polish.. but i just don't have the motivation for nailart lately.. if the tuplets don't suggest doing any nailings.. i literally struggle to find inspiration for nailart. on top of the fact that so many indies are coming out with new collections and all i can do is admire from afar.. ugh.. freaking no buy bullshit. going through severe withdrawal.. AND.. my goodness.. ever since i was admitted to the aussie nails posse... i've been introduced to so many aussie indies.. who freaken knew there were so many out there now! when i had the idea to start my own.. i only knew of 5 others.. now i can't count with my hands on how many there are! having mad anxiety worrying over if once i get my shit out there if it'll be any good.. i mean.. i'm really not artistically inclined like the many other awesome ladies whom have their own line.. ugh.. guess all i can do is just... do my own thing. and if people think it's good then they'll buy.. and not worry so much about how epic the others are... *fighting!*
still haven't had any luck finding a label supply.. let alone ordering my labels.. but the other half said it's better to just print our own if i planned on keeping this business going.. which i do.. but in reality.. it all depends on how well i do in the opening.. but i really do want this to be permanent. gah.. so much pressure... so.. he's on the hunt for a printer and labels.

teeheehee... still squishing a couple episodes of korean drama in when the other half isn't awake yet or having dinner.. but i'm currently watching a japanese drama.. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge based off the manga The Wallflower. It's about 4 beautiful guys who are trying to make a "lady" out of a girl who's socially awkward and emo.. will fill you in on how it turns out once i'm done! though.. i'll probably burn through the rest of it tonight before uni tomorrow hahaha!

was surprisingly really fun to do.. although it took some time.. great to do while catching up on Grey's Anatomy :D

tuplet nails!

todays tuplet nails was striping tape!

unfortunately only 4 of us were able to do this one.. and might i say.. this too was a nightmare to do.. as simple as it looks.. it's the tiny tiny tape that was so tedious to deal with.. making sure you placed it correctly so that it didn't lean too far to one side and making sure they were at least similar to one another on top of the fact that you had to remove it as soon as you finished painting per finger so that it didn't tear the polish. regardless. it's done and i think they look quite fabulous next to each other.
