still al lady of leisure… i've applied to so many jobs that i've lost count..
if i'm not baking or doing miscellaneous house work.. i'd be wasting away with korean dramas. understood that i don't work.. i still look forward to weekends.. simply because that's when the penis is home and i have company... GAH my life is so average.

well.. i guess it's back to the lab with me to mix up more of Smudged Valentines Day trio bottles!

first post of 2014

wow.. where do i begin…

2013 has been an interesting year to say the least.. but lets be honest.. we say that every year…every time a year ends we sit and reflect on the things that  happened.. things that should have happened.. things we wish had happened.. and things we wish hadn't happened.. then we start to set up unrealistic goals that we want to achieve in the year that's to come… when deep down inside we know that it probably won't happen because we'll keep procrastinating.
for example.. there are many days in a year when i happen just not eat meat that whole day.. but for whatever reason.. whenever Lent rolls around.. and i have to fast every friday till Easter.. not eating meat seems to become SUCH a challenge.. and everywhere i go for that whole day all i can think about is all the meats i want to eat… so i've found that instead of telling myself i'm going to do something.. i'm just going to do it. just like all those times i've told myself i'm not going to buy polish for a period of time.. i end up seeing all the sales or swatches of awesome polishes and i cave. whereas i just actively don't buy anything… i'm fine. it's so weird.. goes to show everyones brains works in strange ways.

i brought in the New Year with the penis and his friends.. the regional plan was to go to his mates house.. have a small bbq and pre game.. then head out to the city.. yeah.. i didn't even make it to the countdown.. my last memory of being conscious was around 10pm when my friend had messaged me and i sent her a picture of myself with a girl who ad happened to be sitting next to me at the time..
it's not like i even had that much to drink! but because we played Kings (known as circle of death in Australia) i absolutely died. --and here i am always complaining about not being able to go out.. and missing all my partying days.. when i can't even stay up past 1030pm..

i'm not sure if you can tell.. but i obviously didn't have much to eat.. and i had Rekorderlig mixed with some Vodka… Champagne… wine and a small cup of punch.. i was in for a rude slap.. but of course everything seemed like a good idea at the time because i was being excitable.

this is the only picture i have from that night.. and i don't even have one with the penis.. yes.. i know.. i should be shot.

i'm pretty sure i passed out a smidgen after this photo was taken.. i just went to the bathroom and threw up my brains.. the penis was very sweet and tended to me.. when i ended up on the couch.. i kept gesturing for him to go join the party.. because i thought that i could just rest a little then pick up where i left off.. turns out i passed out.. and when i heard people shouting Happy New Year.. i woke up and moved my arm to find him.. but he wasn't next to me.. minutes later when he came back.. i threw a sad because he didn't stay with me for the countdown.. hahahahaha. he got upset thinking.. i told him to go.. and when he went.. i got upset.. i remember crying about coming all the way here from Sydney and that he didn't even care… (i found out later on that he had only left me for a few minutes to go and light sparklers.. and by the time everyone had realised they had missed the countdown.. he came back.. and that was just as i came to…) then i passed out till the next morning and woke up to find him sleeping next to me on the couch. yeah.. not my most attractive moment i'll admit. i spent the entire next day a nauseous blob. he was very sweet and made me tea.. which i threw up so graciously.. and we decided to go home since i had nothing left in my tummy.. and let me tell you.. when you're hungover and sick.. it feels like you can feel every single rock you drive over on the road.. it was awful. we finally made it home and i just blobbed for the rest of the day…

this is why i'm writing this post on the second.. i am finally hangover free… but i still feel a little squirmish when i see or hear alcohol…

finally caught the fire!!!

i finally got to watch Catching Fire today with the penis.. and it was awesome!

for anyone whose never been to or doesn't know what Gold Class is… it's basically a cinema of about 20 seats or so.. and all the seats are like lazy boy seats.. and you get to order food and drinks at the bar and have it delivered to you during the movie.. absolutely epic. no screaming children.. no obnoxious loud mouth talkers.. just a pillow seat and munchies while you eye candy is being projected onto the big screen!

followed by more house renovations… i feel like we've been painting for weeks yet no progress is made.. on top of the fact that the pool pump has broken down AGAIN.. and this whole week has been in the 40s.. HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO WORK IN THESE CONDITIONS?!

yesterday we attended the penis's old coworkers wedding…

it was a nice small gathering of family and friends at a winery near Swan Valley

i wore the bow i got from Kim to match my outfit

we arrived mid ceremony and everyone was gathered around for the ceremony.. followed by the release of balloons to mark the beginning of the couples union..

after the ceremony was done the couple left to take their wedding photos around the winery and the crowd was left to food and booze!

--that awkward moment when the boy looks so much cuter making a face than you do.. hahaha

THIS was genius… instead of having personal gifts.. their wedding favours were printed paper bags and fruit! it was basically self serve.. --of course all the womens huddled over and took the bulk of the picks first.. i managed to grab a mango and two pomegranates in the chaos.

after a while.. we were all ushered to the restaurant where the reception was held!

--another genius.. instead of having massive flower table ornaments.. just have a far wrapped with curtain material and a few flowers!
by this time i was about 3 coronas in and working on a glass of white wine

entree was smoked chicken

main was a choice of fish or cow

unfortunately we didn't stay long enough for dessert.. but by the time main was served it was almost 10pm.. and the mosquitos were going to town on my arms and legs.. (go figure that in a room of half naked men and women that they only go after me…) so the penis and i decided to call it quits and headed home..

.. of course not before stopping my McDonalds for a sundae :)

i'm finally back from asia.. and i think i have SARS

hi everyone!

i'm back from my trip.. well.. i've been back for over a week now.. but i caught the flu on my last day in Singapore and have been sick ever since… so i haven't been able to blog.
i still have congestion and a chesty cough but i have to drag myself out of bed for uni.. exams are next week and i want to die T.T

my dad seeing me so sick made a joke about me catching SARS while in Singapore.. and told me to stay away and asked me why i brought SARS home to him.. =="

despite returning home sick.. the trip was a great success!

it was a lot of fun and i got to see and try many things that i wouldn't usually be able to.. but it was bloody hot.. not dry hot like it is in Australia.. but that humid sticky suffocating hot.. you could feel it hit you as soon as you get off the plane!

i arrived in Changi airport Singapore 7pm October 15.. and met up with the other half and his cousin Shaun because the penis had arrived 5 hours before i did from Perth…
i was already dead by then.. i didn't sleep on the airplane at all and i had been up since 530am because i had class that morning. (on top of the fact that we got into an argument the night before.. go figure right?! ==")
we headed straight for Johor Baru and because i hadn't eaten yet.. they decided to go to a korean restaurant on the way home!

to be honest.. i don't even remember the name of the restaurant.. i was so fried.. i just wanted to lay down.. i was on an 8 hour flight.. just sitting on my ass the hole time.
i was both.. happy and angry to see the penis.. because i missed him.. but was still annoyed at our fight the night before and before he left for Singapore!

Thursday 16 October

Shaun and his sister Linda take us out for breakfast and some shopping before heading back into Singapore..

my favourite.. Hor Fun! which is fried rice noodle in a thick egg sauce with veggies and meat!

i was also introduced to this deliciousness…

Kaya Toast.. it may not look like much.. but believe me.. it was delicious! it's just toasted bread with butter and kaya.. which is a pandan sugar… delicious. absolutely delicious. so incredibly bad for you.. but so damn good. i could live off of this stuff fr the rest of my days.. (maybe not.. because i love bibimbap so much too)

all washed down with a popular malaysian drink..

Kopi Te.. which essentially is just white coffee mixed with tea. but doesn't have that bitter taste of coffee and not as heavy as a latte.

after breakfast we headed to the mall before making our way into Singapore..

i went a little crazy in the Skin Food shop over korean products… but get this.. everything in that picture was a total of about $100 AUD! can you believe?! Levi Jean and shirt.. and all those skin products! i love this place!

--i'll leave it here for now because i still have uni things i have to do.. but will have more posts of the trip soon!

PUBLIC HOLIDAY!

LABOR DAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY means.. no school today! woot woot*

spent the day with Meg and her wabbitses...

aren't they just the darnest little things?! Patrick is such a poser.. he's a total camera whore.. whereas Abby can't stay still.. it's almost like she knows she's being photographed and moves...

sushi for lunch! and guzzled down with cider.. yum.

we watched The Other Boelyn Girl and as a snack.. i made...

deep fried oreos!!!

they were surprisingly delicious! the cookie was soft and chewy and the filling melted like marshmallows. so bad for you but so addictive!
all i you need is:
pancake mix
vegetable oil
small sauce pan
whisk
pack of oreos

submerge the oreo into the pancake batter and deep fry it in medium to low heat till golden brown! make sure the batter is more gloopy than runny.. otherwise you won't get much batter on the cookie...

hehehe.. i kind of burnt the last batch a little.. was going back and forth from the kitchen to the lounge where the tv was and they got super brown super fast... so note.. DON'T WALK AWAY FROM FOOD THAT IS BEING FRIED!!

POLISH PARTY!

it's finally the weekend.. and i spent all of saturday with Meg...

yes.. this is exactly what it looks like.. we spent the entire saturday inhaling polish fumes and drinking cider.. with a side of playing with her wabbitses!

aren't they so cute?! i've never hung out with rabbits before.. so it was quite entertaining being around them.. i think my favorite part was watching them try to run on tiles.. absolutely hilarious watching them slide around. when i first got there.. Meg and i were eating fish and chips and Abby out of no where came and head butted my arm.. climbed on my lap looked at me funny.. then took off like nothing happened.. i sat there dumbfounded thinking.. what just happened?! hahaha adorable little fuzz buckets.

alas the weekend is here... and it was so warm today!

but of course it wasn't going to stop me from fooding with a friend today at El Jannah!

it was surprisingly not awkward at all.. considering it was technically a blind date! hahaha i met her through instagram and our love of nails! we've been talking for a few months now just the usual daily rantings and admiring nail polish online.. haha.

when i got home i did bestie twin nails with my dear friend Tori!

she hadn't ever done galaxy nails before so she picked the theme

i was lazy to hand paint the stars so i decided to fish for them from Smudged Alone Tonight.. that and i can't do the thin fine lines for whatever reason.. they always end up looking like awkward blobs.. --i should probably look into getting acrylic paint for nail art...

for this mani i used Ulta3 Black Satin for the base.. then sponged on Ulta3 Lily White. Sinful Colors Sugar Rush. OPI No Spain No Gain and BYS Rhapsody. topped off with Australis Speck-tacular and Smudged polish Alone Tonight.

today marks my one year engagement anniversary..!

doesn't feel like much has changed.. we still get on like fire.. we got into an argument just last night actually.. and we're somehow still together.. new meaning to impossible love. hahaha

uni was such a drag today.. days like this i just wish i had already graduated working some mediocre job. everyone around me has either graduated.. working.. engaged... married.. travelling.. babies... and i'm still stuck in limbo.. sometimes i feel like i chose the wrong field.. thinking had i chosen.. business. or finance.. education even.. that i'd already be working and having vacation every other quarter.. but no.. i'm still carrying my DC backpack stuffed with text books and my laptop to school every day. all this reading and hair pulling better be worth it at the end.. cause the rate that i'm going.. i really can't stand people anymore.. and how can i help them if i hate them? hanging in there.. *fighting!*

Sunday mums day...

my day consisted of... church, little brunch with the mumsie, a futile attempt at studying --meaning painting my nails in between and finally a movie date with the other half.

this manicure was inspired by the mom.. i asked her what color she liked.. and she said she felt like blue today so...

for this manicure i used Sinful Colors Sugar Rush for the base and OPI Last Friday Night for the gradient. doesn't look too awful if i do say so myself...!

this is my last day of bullshitting around.. starting monday i'm going to have to force myself to get my shit together and do my 8000 word paper and 2 other assessments on top of studying for my finals coming up in exactly a month from today.
i can't tell if it's stress from uni or anxiety with the partner.. probably a combination of the two.. but haven't been feeling so great these past couple of days.. i don't know.. one of those.. i don't feel so pretty today and just everything around me doesn't hold its appeal anymore. meh. i don't know.. hopefully it passes soon... plus i need to get to bed.. have to be up at the butt crack of dawn for my mission trip to uni in the morning...

tuplet nails!

todays tuplet nails was striping tape!

unfortunately only 4 of us were able to do this one.. and might i say.. this too was a nightmare to do.. as simple as it looks.. it's the tiny tiny tape that was so tedious to deal with.. making sure you placed it correctly so that it didn't lean too far to one side and making sure they were at least similar to one another on top of the fact that you had to remove it as soon as you finished painting per finger so that it didn't tear the polish. regardless. it's done and i think they look quite fabulous next to each other.
