IT'S COMING!

it's monday again.. and once again as always i wonder where the weekend went..

oh that's right.. i spent the weekend doing my assignments that were due before i left for Singapore.. which is in 2 days!!! seriously... i remember when it was still months away and i was having a sook about it.. with a few mental breakdowns mixed in...
i'm excited about our first international trip together and all the other nervous feelings you're supposed to get before going on a trip.. but.. singapore.. SINGAPORE.. it was the land of doom and gloom.. why are we going again..? (oh yeah.. the junk ass wedding.. which i'm told is going to be in a car park.. what does that even mean?! you're getting your friends to fly all the way from Australia to attend your wedding in asia.. you'd think they'd put in a little effort in the presentation of their wedding.. guess not. well i just hope it's a joke.. then again.. it's a super conservative muslim wedding... so how exciting can it possibly be.. well. we all know who's going to be hitting up a bar before the reception and then clubbing afterwards!)
well.. were going.. and i have some international Smudged polish orders to process when we get there. which i'm very proud about. i just hope everything goes well and i'm actually able to ship them out from Singapore. just going to keep myself busy and focus on spending time with the penis.. yeah. (who am i kidding.. i'm going to go into my lapse at some point.. i just hope it won't be severe)

--i made a new friend a few weeks ago through instagram.. i first spoke to her when she purchased one of my grab bags and some of my polishes.. out of the blue about a week ago when she commented on one of my pictures.. i decided to go and stalk her instagram page and was blown away by her absolutely adorable designs! Kimberly makes jewellery, key chains, earrings and other assorted shindigs out of polymer clay! and i had no idea! this whole time!! i went through her pictures and just had to make an order..
the tiny little bears were the first to catch my attention.. and with my very obvious obsession over anything korean lately.. i've developed a liking for.. coupley things.. so she handmade these custom zombie bears for me!

aren't they so cute?! so small.. and hand made!!! if you notice on the bears bottoms.. she stamped our initials on either bear.. SO CUTE!
i was thinking of using these bears as an "official engagement proposal" to my penis..
--the back story is.. he proposed to me about a year ago when we were in Melbourne... but because neither of our parents know about our engagement (it's a long story and it's mostly because of my parents.. if you read back to my earlier posts you'll remember that my parents went ape shit after meeting him) i think this is going to be when he proposes to me.. PROPERLY. (there's a story behind this too.. but not exactly PG13.. so it'd be nice to have a normal story to tell when people ask me how he proposed) then again.. i could be completely wrong too.. --this is all because i had left my engagement ring back in perth when i visited last time... i'm just assuming he's going to propose again.. and properly this time.
i know i shouldn't expect any more than he has given me.. and i am appreciative of everything i've been given.. but it'd be nice to think that he'd think of giving me a proper proposal..

so.. i went and got my hair cut on a whim today... i was originally going to wait till after the singapore trip because i wanted to have long curls for the wedding.. but with the ridiculous heat wave in Sydney and apparently the average forecast for singapore weather is 32 degrees and humid... i couldn't take the maintenance and length anymore so i had about 9 inches chopped off. i went to Kim Sun Young on Pitt St and i had my hair done by Emma. this is my second time having my hair cut with her and i really love the cut and service i had received.. i can't tell whether or not i regret cutting off so much yet.. or that i'm in denial.. because every time i have long hair and i have a cut.. any cut let alone a drastic one.. i always end up having a cry over it... the penis doesn't know about it yet.. but i'm sure he will after he checks his credit card account.. hahahaha.

it was surprisingly not awkward at all.. considering it was technically a blind date! hahaha i met her through instagram and our love of nails! we've been talking for a few months now just the usual daily rantings and admiring nail polish online.. haha.

she hadn't ever done galaxy nails before so she picked the theme

i was lazy to hand paint the stars so i decided to fish for them from Smudged Alone Tonight.. that and i can't do the thin fine lines for whatever reason.. they always end up looking like awkward blobs.. --i should probably look into getting acrylic paint for nail art...

for this mani i used Ulta3 Black Satin for the base.. then sponged on Ulta3 Lily White. Sinful Colors Sugar Rush. OPI No Spain No Gain and BYS Rhapsody. topped off with Australis Speck-tacular and Smudged polish Alone Tonight.

seriously.. i have a new found respect for the nail ladies who swatch polishes.. it is by all means NOT easy.. these 5 swatches literally took me the whole of sunday to do! luckily it was such a beautiful day out.. and i sat in the backyard pumping kpop while doing these swatches.. but they took a good 6 hours to do. on top of the fact that i took countless pictures of each mani and they all still came out only mediocre.. they're much prettier in real life and i just wish there was a way that i could capture it.

today i bring you a small swatch of Smudged Polish Sun In Your Eyes from my Above & Beyond collection and some more gradients!

for this mani i used Sinful Colors Unicorn, Sweet Nothing and Sugar Rush topped off with Smudged Polish Alone Tonight (once again i had to physically unfish the holo crescent moons and stars) for the gradient and for the accent nail i used 3 coats of Smudged Polish Sun In Your Eyes.

i think i'm getting back into the knack of nailart again.. i've been neglecting it ever since i started making my own line but now that I've stopped while i'm in uni and all my tools are back in Perth.. its allowed me to spend whatever time i have left... to do more nail shenanigans.

the other half is spending weekends fixing up the house nowadays.. so i spend most of my weekends doing my uni work and or groceries with my parents...

Wednesdays are the new fun days! well.. it is for me at least.. or.. it'll be fun up until i'm swimming in assignments and i have to use the freebie day to catch up on those assignments.

My dad and uncle and i went to a car auction yesterday and it was so much fun. i was the only female there.. (not like there was any eye candy to look at anyway.. they were either old.. or hairy or just.. there wasn't anything worth swooning over) unfortunately we weren't able to find a car we like.. we placed a few bids on 3 cars.. but to no avail.. i think we're going to go again next week.. hopefully we'll be able to find something we like! but more so... it felt good to do something with my dad. it been years since we hung out together.. and it was really nice.

i'm back baby! finally got back into my nailart groove! for this mani i used Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth, Candy Coated and Sugar Rush topped off with Smudged Polish Alone Tonight. I had to physically unfish the holo stars and crescent moons hahaha!

and just for funsies i added a leopard print accent! I used Sinful Colors Unicorn and Sweet Nothing for the leopard print. i have to say.. i'm quite proud of these suckers if i do say so myself.. its been so long since i did any legit nailart. i kind of gave up after i started my own polish line.. but now that i'm not creating any new colors till i go back in november.. it's all sails ahead for nail art!

oh oh.. and with my obsession over everything korean lately.. i made kimchi bokumbap!!!

kimchi bokumbap is just kimchi korean fried rice. but absolutely delicious. after i saw it on Coffee Prince i just had to try and make it.

well i'm out of rants today.. going to pretend to study and sneak in some kdramas!

i spent the entire weekend watching movies with the other half (which means streaming movies at the same time while being on Skype) --yes yes.. i'm supposed to be studying.. but i literally can't be bothered for anything.. even my nail painting has been cut down! i mean.. it's mostly because i don't have anything new to play with.. --mind you its been over a month since i got new nail polish.. but i just don't have the motivation for nailart lately.. if the tuplets don't suggest doing any nailings.. i literally struggle to find inspiration for nailart. on top of the fact that so many indies are coming out with new collections and all i can do is admire from afar.. ugh.. freaking no buy bullshit. going through severe withdrawal.. AND.. my goodness.. ever since i was admitted to the aussie nails posse... i've been introduced to so many aussie indies.. who freaken knew there were so many out there now! when i had the idea to start my own.. i only knew of 5 others.. now i can't count with my hands on how many there are! having mad anxiety worrying over if once i get my shit out there if it'll be any good.. i mean.. i'm really not artistically inclined like the many other awesome ladies whom have their own line.. ugh.. guess all i can do is just... do my own thing. and if people think it's good then they'll buy.. and not worry so much about how epic the others are... *fighting!*
still haven't had any luck finding a label supply.. let alone ordering my labels.. but the other half said it's better to just print our own if i planned on keeping this business going.. which i do.. but in reality.. it all depends on how well i do in the opening.. but i really do want this to be permanent. gah.. so much pressure... so.. he's on the hunt for a printer and labels.

teeheehee... still squishing a couple episodes of korean drama in when the other half isn't awake yet or having dinner.. but i'm currently watching a japanese drama.. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge based off the manga The Wallflower. It's about 4 beautiful guys who are trying to make a "lady" out of a girl who's socially awkward and emo.. will fill you in on how it turns out once i'm done! though.. i'll probably burn through the rest of it tonight before uni tomorrow hahaha!

uni was such a drag today.. days like this i just wish i had already graduated working some mediocre job. everyone around me has either graduated.. working.. engaged... married.. travelling.. babies... and i'm still stuck in limbo.. sometimes i feel like i chose the wrong field.. thinking had i chosen.. business. or finance.. education even.. that i'd already be working and having vacation every other quarter.. but no.. i'm still carrying my DC backpack stuffed with text books and my laptop to school every day. all this reading and hair pulling better be worth it at the end.. cause the rate that i'm going.. i really can't stand people anymore.. and how can i help them if i hate them? hanging in there.. *fighting!*

i'm back!

so much has happened since i wrote last. and i apologise for my lack of updates. there really is no excuse.. most haven't had the motivation to put thought into words and more so i was trying to keep myself together with everything going on lately... but before i get into it.. i'm going to share my.. nails of the day that i did with my tuplets!

todays theme was strawberries for #nailartmay and instead of doing the usual whole nail strawberry we opted for something a little different and this was the end result!

for the base i used Sally Hansen Jaded. for the strawberries i used Portmans Cherry. Sinful Colors Unicorn and BYS Roller Coaster. and for the flowers Sinful Colors Easy Going and Unicorn.
i don't think i did too shabby having been out of commission for a week...

we got into another domestic over the weekend. but this time no shouting or exchange of hurt words.. more so.. sharing of feelings. he spent sunday morning looking at houses with his parents but they were either out of reach or not very great.. i didn't speak till mid sunday afternoon and that was when i poured my guts out to him. it's very difficult to convey emotions through the phone but i said what i had to say and just thanked cupid for allowing him to understand and not become defensive. at this point i'm blaming the fights on the distance. once i see him come end of june.. i really do hope things will become much happier and easier.. we'd immediately start brewing the potions and getting my nailings venture going. he'll continue to look for a place for the both of us and when i move over at the end of year we can finally start out lives together loving one another and not tearing each other a new ass hole every other day.

i haven't heard back from the hospital yet.. but i wasn't expecting anything till mid next week anyway. i'm sure it's nothing. the pain is gone.. usually only comes when i'm on my menstrual cycle anyway. on top of the fact that i am about 3 weeks away from exams and still 2 papers due with lots of studying.
and they say student life is nothing but drunken lesban orgies.. pssch..

this is my last day of bullshitting around.. starting monday i'm going to have to force myself to get my shit together and do my 8000 word paper and 2 other assessments on top of studying for my finals coming up in exactly a month from today.
i can't tell if it's stress from uni or anxiety with the partner.. probably a combination of the two.. but haven't been feeling so great these past couple of days.. i don't know.. one of those.. i don't feel so pretty today and just everything around me doesn't hold its appeal anymore. meh. i don't know.. hopefully it passes soon... plus i need to get to bed.. have to be up at the butt crack of dawn for my mission trip to uni in the morning...

i've been in a long distance relationship with my other half for about 32 months now and out of those months we've only been together in the same room for about 6. seeing as i can only see him if either one of us visits during my uni break.
being in a long distance relationship really limits what we can and can't do together on top of the time difference. so we're reduced to phone calls or skype dates every so often. today was supposed to be movie day. we both downloaded Troy and were going to waste away the day watching a movie and just being around one another. to our dismay his aunt came over for lunch and needed him to help her with her iPad... ended up taking the whole day..
date ruined. and of course not understanding one another... he thought i was angry that he had to help his aunt so he got angry with me and i got angry with him that i was just sad our date was ruined. when will it get better...?

i still remember the first time i had started talking to her and Tammy through instagram. cracking sarcastic jokes about nails and asians.. after a few weeks of instagram stalking.. comments and likes.. i had seen a post about the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection and being devastated over the fact that it's almost damn near impossible to get nice nail polish in this shit hole without having to pay an arm and a leg.. on top of the fact that they're just not available.. ANYWAYS.. moments later Mrs B messages me through kik and literally tells me to give her my address because she has an extra set to giveaway.. not going to lie i thought she was just pulling my leg in the beginning.. but after about 2 hours of freaking out and being.. non-believing i finally calmed my panties and let it sink in. and TAADAA* this is what happened!
